Finally, McCain starts to Get It.

John McCain has said he wants this to be a campaign between gentlemen. to that end, he has stood there and let the surrogates of Barack Obama attack him incessantly, even going to extraordinary steps to apologize for Obama. Meanwhile Obama lets the attacks roll unabated.

As I have said before, politics is the most dangerous contact sport in America. If you are unwilling to play as hard as your opponent, you are wasting my time.

apparently, he is starting to understand that he really can beat Obama. Obama, despite being the Messiah (anointed by the media who apparently believe they are even more prescient than God). Obama has no lead, Obama flip flops every day because his polling is telling him that he is on the wrong side of critical issues. He wants to move to the center, but because he is so far left, he cannot tell where that is. So McCain is finally starting to come out of his shell:

You are starting to see some life out of the campaign also. Campaign Manager Rick Davis said this on MSNBC:

Maybe, just maybe they are awakening from their hibernation and understand that I do not care what kind of campaign they would like to run. I only care that they run a campaign designed to make every effort to wind. They have a solemn duty to me and the party and all of in the party to run the hardest fought campaign possible.

To that end, McCain needs to add into the drilling debate the critical need for our National Security to have independence in our energy needs. Add that to the debate, where it belongs and Obama not only loses this the debate on this issues, he loses badly. He, and the Democrat party have no credible plan designed to reverse our 30 slide into energy slavery, none.

Talking about alternative energy is nice, its fluffy, feel good. It is also not feasible or credible given current technologies. If they want a “Manhattan” project to find new sources, that is fine, but we need to address our needs with all available technologies. If we find the holy grail of clean, plentiful, free energy at some point, that would wonderful, idyllic, Utopian. I am all for it.

To ignore reality on this issue faced with the reality as it is, is not a new, “yes we can” plan…..it is national suicide.

So Senator McCain, pummel him every day on drilling on nuclear, on natural gas on oil shale on all of it. These are resources we own. They belong to the people, not Nancy Pelosi or Barack Obama.

Drill No, Not Ever, unless…Maybe…Not So Ridgid

Barack was very clear on June 20th, drilling will not lower gas prices, in fact it would:

only worsen our addiction to oil

Here is the tape. - see how resolute he was in this position. He is very concerned that we:

tell the truth to the American people.

So now, here it is August 2nd, less than 90 days to the election. All the polls show that the Democrats are losing the drilling debate badly, because in General Americans have a lot of common sense and know that less supply equals higher prices. Nancy Pelosi tried to squash debate on energy by shutting out the lights and turning off the cameras. Son in the morning on August 2nd, Obama declares he is against drilling. Four hours later, he says this:

“My interest is in making sure we’ve got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices,” Obama said in an interview with The Palm Beach Post. If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage - I don’t want to be so rigid that we can’t get something done.

So, did he flip here? Not really, look at the highlighted words. He is trying to convey to those of you who know intuitively that adding supply will lower prices, that he knows he is losing, but that he thinks you are ignorant so he will try to convey an open mind on this, but the code words “careful” and “carefully” are meant to let his radical left-wing base be assured that he is not going to let this happen, but that he needed to make it look as if he is on the right side of drilling because he cannot win the argument when he treats us as if we are stupid.

You and I know that drilling in and of itself will not lower prices tomorrow. In may not lower prices 3 years from now. But one thing that you and I know very clearly is this:

Drilling will NOT, I repeat NOT raise prices now, or any time in the future.

All that aside, the point of drilling here, drilling now, nuclear here, nuclear now, wind here, wind now, solar here, solar now, natural gas here, natural gas here now, geothermal here, geothermal here now ……. is not to lower prices. It is to stop the wholesale transfer of ownership of the American economy and the degradation of our national security to interests that despise us and would welcome our destruction…even foolishly.

Now You Have A Solution Gas Prices, No Drilling Required!

Obama knows how to lower gas prices — if only you would keep your tires properly inflated, then we would not have any problem. Don’t believe me? Here is the tape:

If you believe this is the solution, then you have on overabundance of air in your head.

Will Senator Olitist’s New National Security Force Deliver the Precalculated Tax Bills?

In a speech in Colorado Springs on June 2nd, Senator Olitists said this:

We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

Here is the tape:

I am wondering…will he have them delivering the precalculated IRS tax bills he is going to provide for us as a service? Maybe if they are a little slow, he can have them enforce the Fairness Doctrine, or maybe, just maybe, they can enforce Senator Olitist’s sense of fairness. As an after-thought, maybe Jesse (cut his nut’s off) Jackson and Dr. Iva Carruthers can borrow them to enforce Reparations for Slavery.

Mercy Boo Koo Oh Senator Olitist

Last week, Barack expressed his embarrassment that we Americans go to France and cannot utter anything more than Merci beaucoup ( no Barack it does not “mercy on the police”). He laments that sad state of the unwashed in this country. If they would only stop clinging to their guns and their Bibles, they could become more how you say….refined? I know it is hard to believe, but, lets roll the tape.

Then they would also see the logic and benefit of voting for one so, so all knowing and intelligent and brilliant as he is. Then he could assume his preordained position as a leader of the great unwashed. The only thing he left out was a reference to us eating cake.

This is so rich. Obama is a creature of a very narrow culture of elitist, radical leftists. His mentors, Frank Marshall, William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Bernadine Dohrn and Saul Alinsky all cling, (my bad) that the masses are incapable of managing their affairs. For the collective good, there is a need for brilliant, principled leadership by a select few that know what is best for the collective. Sound familiar? It should. It is also the train of thought of the Soviet leadership over the 80 some years of its existence before it imploded spectacularly.

Elect Obama, and you will see fairly quickly that he has nothing but contempt for the common man on which whose backs this country was built. He caters to Unions because he sees them as the “useful fools”, but make no mistake, the common working man, unable to shake himself free from his guns and his bible and apparently too stupid to know a serial flip flopper when he sees one, no, he is an embarrassment to Obama.

Well Congress Wants To Restrict Freedom Of Speech Of Its Members

Well, they were not content with squashing our free speech rights with McCain-Feingold, now they need to quash freedom of expression between members of Congress and their constituents. The Congress is considering a rule banning its member from posting on Social Networks (facebook, twitter, etc.) unless they site is pre-approved. I know you say their is the 1st Amendment, when did that stop this Congress from stepping all over your rights. This just could be our chance to impeach a bunch of them.
Congressman Mike Conaway has put up a webpage with a petition so you can weigh in and stop this insanity. Here is the link. It will also be posted in the sidebar.

Finally, Someone Speaks Sense - Why Hasn’t McCain Jumped On This

T. Boone Pickens has made billions over the years, primarily in the oil business. Now, he is putting billions of his own money into a mega plan to generate wind energy and he has a larger vision that could mean a real reduction on our dependence on foreign oil. He calls it Pickens Plan.

The fact that he is an oil man and the fact that he is putting his own money into a plan to generate wind energy on a massive scale speaks volumes to his vision.

He has been out promoting his plan for over a week and if McCain has even acknowleged it, then they need to fire their media Director because I have not seen it, but then I have not seen very much on him at all. Obama is monopolizing the news cycle to his detriment.

Senator McCain, go see the plan, get a clue and embrace and own this before Obama’s people grab it out from underneath you. No do not abandon your position on more drilling now, add this to the mix, more oil here, more nuclear here, more gas here, more wind here, more solar here, that is the solution to this mess.

Trust me Senator, none of us out here are going to care one wit if there are Polar Bears surviving in the wilderness if we are cold and hungry in our homes, without jobs, because of the malfeasance of the U.S. Congress, Senate and the President over the last 25 years that lead us down this path.

McCains Real Problem

So I have confessed that John McCain was not my first or my second choice as Republican nominee for President. But as the parties nominee, I will vote for him. But at this moment, I am not feeling warm and fuzzy for his chances.

His campaign remains in disarray. This is nothing new. It is what put him in the position of being declared dead before the primary season began. It is to his credit that he arose from the ashes to reclaim the nomination. However, we stand at another crossroads. The Democratic nominee is set, he is a formidable fundraiser, an astute campaigner with a strong organization and a willingness to attack the jugular with surrogates while Senator McCain stands there wishing for a gentler, kinder type of campaign.

The recent flap over the comments by Wesley Clark denigrating the service of John McCain was quite revealing. For one, it revealed the greatest fear of the Obama campaign (McCain’s credibility on Foreign Policy and National Security) and a strong established network of surrogates set to unleash all manner of dubious attacks and credible support for making the big lie real. Note the piling on by all manner of left wing blogs, “Democratic Strategists” and other supposed independents.

It also revealed that if the McCain camp had any well organized structure to fight back against such an attack, it is very well concealed and disguised as at arms length. This is where I get nervous. McCain had many people jump to his defense. But no real response from the campaign and this feeds into the emerging undercurrent that McCain is not the steel nerved, experienced warrior that his service and history in the Senate actually portray. No, they spent their time talking about reorganization and the faux pas of making every effort to repulse the base on immigration. Fortunately, the miscalculation of the Obama campign with this attack diverted attention from the tumult of the McCain campaign.

In captivity, McCain was beaten more severely than any torture he fights against being perpetrated on our captives in Guantanamo. He was offered the chance to escape the pain, the suffering and the very real chance that he could have died in captivity because of his status as the son of an Admiral. What he did was look his captives in the eye and refuse to leave without his fellow captives. There is no more credible testament to the qualification of his character to be President than this single act.

But the failure to look his attackers square in the eye and assert the imperative of his moral position, he sat back and let his surrogates assume the defense at what was the most opportune of timing. I do not question John McCain’s character or bravery, I question his will to win.

John McCain is known for his temper. He spared no veneer of comity when he told John Cornyn to F**k off when Cornyn resisted being railroaded on the Immigration “Reform” debacle. He showed equal brashness when assuming the mantle of leadership over the “Gang of Fourteen”, yet, in the midst of the Presidential Campaign, McCain makes every stretch to avoid asserting the strength of character or will that he evinced in numerous other fights. He is apparently willing to piss off anyone but Barack Obama and the leftist base that he apparently thinks he can pick off at the fringes.

Politics is the most dangerous contact sport played without weapons. Only war can be said to be more brutal or barbaric. This is how it should be. The leader of the most powerful (and most viable) Democracy in the world has the unequaled responsibility to defend, extend and protect that Democracy, not only for us privileged few granted the good graces to have been born to it, but also for all those that aspire to join it.

If John McCain retained his will to survive his captivity at the hands of the North Vietnamese, I just hope it was not at the expense of his will to win when the stakes are so high. Only time will reveal this, but time is running short. McCain must reach down and find the courage of his convictions if he is to win this election.

There is much to attack Obama on. His associations with Wright, Ayers and so many radical organizations will be fought by the surrogates on the right as it should be. McCain will need to attack him strong and hard every day on his flip flops which have started to occur on a daily basis. He also needs to drive home the point that for a mant that claims to be the onwer of so amny principled stands, he never seems to be able to find the time to register his vote for any of them. He muust b erelentless in the attack.

McCain keeps claiming to want to “discuss the issues” with Obama in front of the issues. If he waits for Obama to say yes, he will never have that discussion, so Senator do not wait. You have that conversation with us, without Obama. If you do, he will be forced to cave again and agree to your town meeing format, but only if your start the converstaion without him.

McCain needs to keep driving home the point that while we cannot drill our way out of our dependence on foreign oil, neither can we by standing around talking about “hope change hope change” while demonizing the oil companies that bring us what is the lifeblood of our economy. We will need to take all available measures and yes, develop new, clean technologies to supplant much of the demand for carbon. But standing firm against the use of current technologies and the development of our native resources not only stops us from moving forward to solutions, it endangers our National Security and yes the hopes and dreams of those that look to the United States as the greatest hope for freedom and prosperity for them, their children and their children’s children.

He must also stop taking every opportunity to rub the face of his base in the steaming pile with visits to Mexico in support of an immigration reform already rejected by the base of the party, but also the majority of Americans. We still believe in the rule of law, we do not believe in undermining that precept for the sake of economic expediency.

McCain can win this election, if he chooses to engage the fight as it is and not as he might wish it to be. There are millions of us that hope that he will.

Barack Obama’s Ambivalence On the Life Of Innocents

I have posted on this many times the last few days. Obama, strong moral Christian that he is, has professed his ambivalence regarding when life begins. This post (An Inconvenient Life) at Redstate.com fully documents Obama’s complicity in attempting to perpetuate a practice so brutal, so barbaric, that even the usual suspects defending abortion as choice (NARAL) would not support, nor stand in the way of legislation to stop the horror.

Read this and ask yourself; how can a man who speaks so freely of “Hope“, of “Change“; of “Justice” be so callous, uncaring and cold to the plight of the most vulnerable and Innocent among us? How could ever deliver justice for any of us?

You must read Obamas objections to this law. He was concerned that declaring a “previable” fetus to be a person, would in fact prevent all abortions. How can you state that an infant that has survived a barbaric late-term abortion is now outside the womb and breathing on its own to be “previable” other than it is so only at the criminal and callous neglect and denial of the medical care he so indignantly demands is the “right” of his targeted demographic.

By the way Senator, “previable” is not a word according the Roget’s. It is quite ironic that you cannot even find a “viable” adjective within which to couch your argument.
